Lutein, Zeaxanthin & Blackcurrant

 In Uncategorized

A new study examined the effect of lutein, zeaxanthin and blackcurrant extract, on visual fatigue. This supplement combination and placebo samples were randomly given to thirteen participants, who took the samples for two weeks and then the opposite for two weeks. All participants completed visual proof-reading tasks for 2 hours during four testing sessions. Before and after the proof reading task participants moved their eyes back and forth between two targets positioned in the center of two checkerboards. Blood pressure, subjective fatigue and stress scores were collected before and after the proof reading task. Results suggest that the proof reading induced the visual fatigue. Data revealed significant differences between the supplement and placebo conditions. These results suggest that supplementation with lutein, zeaxanthin and blackcurrant extract could help to reduce symptoms of visual fatigue.*

Vitamin Health offers a range of products that include both lutein and zeaxanthin.
